CES 2026: Lenovo's Proof-of-Concepts Announcements Keep Rolling

Lenovo often uses trade shows to announce a slew of proof-of-concept announcements, and CES 2026 brings two rollable displays, smart lenses, a personal AI hub, and more.

CES, like similar trade shows, are often a place where you can go and experience not only what is coming to market, but also the future of technology. Lenovo takes this seriously, and the proof-of-concept devices they unveiled at CES 2026 are nothing short of impressive. We have seen their rollable display in person, and this year the company decided to innovate, bringing two new rollable designs with them, the ThinkPad Rollable XD Concept.

Personally, I can’t live without a second monitor, often bringing my Lenovo portable monitor with me when I am away. Lenovo recognizes that struggle and has brought us a laptop with a screen that increases your real estate from a 13’3″ compact laptop to a 16″ display vertically. The device is described as “one of the world’s first out-folding devices with a world-facing display and expanding user-facing screen.” Not only that, but the device features a transparent 180° Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 cover for protection, AI-driven features, touch gestures and voice controls.

For gamers, the company also unveiled the Lenovo Legion Pro Rollable Concept. The design features a rollable Lenovo PureSight OLED gaming display that expands to 21.5 inches in Tactical Mode and up to a full 24 inches in Arena Mode, all within a laptop form factor. Lenovo says the expandable screen is better suited for esports players who are accustomed to larger displays. The concept is based on the Legion Pro 7i platform and is configured with top-tier Intel Core Ultra processors and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU.

Gamers saw another proof-of-concept in the AI Frame Gaming Display. They shared a bullet list of features players will experience with this concept:

  • AI Scene Detection: Identifies the type of game being played in order to intelligently zoom in key areas and display them in the top-right corner of the screen, making map information clearer or highlighting relevant visual information during high-intensity gameplay—especially useful for FPS or MOBA games. The zoomed-in image is AI-enhanced for clarity when time is of the essence.
  • Cursor Tracking: This feature tracks where the cursor is on the screen and displays the zoomed-in picture at the top right of the display.
  • AI Game Assistance: Identifies game bosses and other difficult mission sections across a multitude of games and provides real-time guidance to help players progress through a game’s toughest challenges. The monitor will dynamically readjust to show both the game and a smaller window displaying the guidance.
  • Adaptive AI Lighting: Provides real-time atmospheric lighting that changes based on what is happening in-game. When the player is struck, for example, the Adaptive AI Lighting will change colours to indicate damage being taken.

Another interesting proof-of-concept device from Lenovo at CES 2026 is the Personal AI Hub. This is a personal edge cloud device, which will use AI to connect across your PCs, smartphones, wearables and smart-home solutions that you use day-to-day. This touchscreen display uses all of its data to analyze your data and uses AI-enabled applications “to evolve with the user and provide high-
performance personal AI computing experiences.”

The Personal AI Hub is built on NVIDIA GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip and equipped with two ThinkStation PGX compact AI Workstations. It will be interesting to see what use cases this brings and how it can apply to everyday tech users.

Smart displays are always being innovated, and this time, Lenovo brought the Smart Sense Display Concept, calling it an “intelligent multi-device hub”. This is a 27″ HUD display that can connect wirelessly to multiple devices like smartphones, tablets or laptops or be connected with cables. Where things get fancy is the natural-language integration, with a smart assistant accessible via voice or touch commands.

Continuing with smart displays is the AI-Powered Personalized Display Concept, “Designed as a multi-user display concept, the solution provides different experiences according to users’ profiles, time of day, and geographic location for circadian auto-adaptations.” It aims to offer users personalized customization including display brightness and colour temperature, plus it offers real-time wellness monitoring based on posture, eye fatigue, and more.

Ces 2026: Lenovo'S Proof-Of-Concepts Announcements Keep Rolling

Lenovo’s AI Glasses Concept is something I am very excited about. This device wirelessly tethers to a smart device and offers voice and touch controls. You can use it as a teleprompter, check your messages, or listen to music, all while connected to your current smart device. It also uses the new Lenovo Qira to access AI capabilities on your devices to deliver live translation and intelligent image recognition. Promising 8 hours of battery life, we can’t wait to check these out in real-world testing someday.

Lenovo also offered innovative proof-of-concept keyboards, like the Lenovo Adaptable Keyboard Concept, which is a smart keyboard that offers customized experiences for different needs, like gaming or work. You are able to adjust stroke and optical actuation based on your current needs. They also announced the Self-Charging Kit, which is “powered by next-level light-harvesting technology that operates as low as 50 lux.” Forget about that USB slot, use your lamp!

As always, Lenovo brought a pile of proof-of-concept devices to CES 2026. How many of them will make it to market, we don’t know, but for now, they are certainly something to keep an eye on. Stay tuned to CGM for all the CES 2026 news, including more from Lenovo’s ThinkPad line, Yoga line and Legion line.
