Lexar, a brand well known for its storage solutions, is further expanding its lineup in innovative ways at CES 2026.
Lexar has long been a brand trusted for its storage solutions, and at CES 2026, they are further expanding its offering, with new drives, microSD cards, SSDs, and high-speed solutions targeted towards AI and gaming. Starting things off on the microSD side of things, the company announced the new SILVER PLUS microSDXC. This new professional-level card is built to be fast, and according to the company is “the world’s fastest UHS-I microSD card,” offering speeds up to 2255MB/s and 180MB/s write, making it ideal for creators, professionals, and anyone looking to maximize the potential of their microSD cards.
Moving onto internal storage, the Lexar PLAY X PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is an impressively fast new PCIe 4.0 SSD that is made for gamers, content creators and professionals, offering 7400MB/s read and 6500MB/s write for gaming, content creation, and high-performance workflows, whatever they may be.
For anyone who wants storage that can give you some peace of mind, Lexar also announced the Lexar TouchLock Portable SSD, a drive that uses encryption and NFC to keep things secure if you ever lose it. The concept is simple, the drive keeps everything on it secure using a dual-encryption that is only unlocked using your phone’s NFC. Basically, your phone is the key that ensures you can access your data.
The concept is ingenious, but as with anything, this is something that needs to be seen and tested to see how well it all works. But in concept, it has us excited to hear more. Of course, if you only want a small and light SSD for your travel needs, Lexar also announced the new Lexar Air, an incredibly light (just .06 oz) SSD that is built for creators or anyone who needs storage on the go.
To tackle the needs of AI and high-intensity gaming, Lexar also announced its new range of storage devices with AI-grade features. Boasting the three pillars of performance, reliability, and flexibility, these new drives are built for constant read and write, while ensuring they always deliver the best performance possible. Announced devices in this range include the new AI-Grade storage stick, AI-Grade Card, and, of course, the AI-Grade SSD. How much better these will be in practice has yet to be seen, but the concept could be incredibly exciting for anyone who needs this level of performance from their storage.
