CES 2026: HP’s EliteBoard and Series 7 Pro Monitor Rethink the Modern Workstation

HP’s new EliteBoard and Series 7 Pro Monitor were announced at CES 2026 and show a willingness to rethink how creative and enterprise workspaces are built.

With CES 2026 underway, HP unveiled two new additions to its hardware ecosystem: a unique desktop computer built into a keyboard and a high-performance monitor designed for creative professionals. The devices are unique and visually striking in just the right ways.

The new HP EliteBoard G1a is described as a next-gen AI PC that hides a fully functional desktop computer inside a sleek keyboard chassis. It is striking how small and compact the system appears, so much so that I did a double-take when I first saw it, briefly wondering whether I was missing something. The space-saving device is designed to declutter workspaces while offering the power of a traditional tower. Beneath the keys, it runs on AMD Ryzen AI processors, including the AI 7 350 PRO, capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS of performance for handling local AI tasks.

The EliteBoard also packs impressive specifications for enterprise users, especially for its size. It supports up to 64 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of storage, with integrated graphics capable of driving four 4K displays at 60 Hz. For users who need mobility or backup power, the unit can be configured with a replaceable battery that provides more than three hours of productivity while unplugged. It also features HP Wolf Security for Business, which protects the BIOS from firmware attacks and ensures the compact form factor does not compromise security.

HP also announced the Series 7 Pro Monitor (732xk), a 31.5-inch 4K display built for users who demand colour precision. It is a striking screen by any measure. The monitor uses an IPS Black panel with Neo:LED technology to deliver deeper shadows and a contrast ratio of 2700:1. It covers 99.4 per cent of both the Adobe RGB and Display P3 colour spaces, making it a strong contender for video editors and designers.

The screen includes everything required for a modern workstation or creative professional. It features a Thunderbolt 4 port that can charge devices with up to 140 W of power while handling data and video. It also includes a built-in Smart KVM switch, allowing users to control two different computers with a single keyboard and mouse. The display supports a 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth motion and includes an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness.

It is encouraging to see HP and other brands innovating in meaningful ways, rather than simply adding more specifications to a new model and calling it finished. Seeing companies push the boundaries of technology is how some of the most compelling devices come to market.
