Project LLL was said to be NCSoft’s next big title, and today, the developers have pulled back the curtain on Cinder City, the real title for the previously codenamed enigmatic reveal.
Back in 2023, NCSoft announced “Project LLL,” a massively multiplayer online third-person shooter set in a dystopian version of Korea. When it was announced, NCSoft kept its cards close to its chest and didn’t provide fans with much more information beyond “we are working on something.” Further into 2023 (at gamescom 2023 no less) NCSoft showcased Project LLL’s first trailer, and since then, there have been many video updates keeping audiences curious throughout the Cinder City development cycle.
Today, NCSoft not only removed the Project LLL moniker, but the developers have also given the project new life with a new name Cinder City. The branding was revealed at gamescom 2025, and Cinder City will appear as a major title at the GeForce RTX Event. NVIDIA has partnered with NCSoft’s BigFire Games to provide hands-on gameplay on PC stations built with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards. Cinder City has come a long way since its first trailer.
CGMagazine can confirm there will be more footage to share aside from the big DLSS options NVIDIA has already revealed. In Cinder City, Players suit up as futuristic knights to navigate a world reshaped by future technology and battle through landmarks and high-tech battlegrounds in a dystopian version of Seoul. Players must decide whether to go at it alone or with a squad, as they search for the protagonist’s lost daughter. More footage will be revealed at gamescom 2025 ONL, with a new trailer showcasing the title and featuring never-before-seen gameplay.
