Crimson Desert Hits 3 Million Copies Sold and Pearl Abyss Isn’t Done Yet

Kliff Still Has A Long Road Ahead

Crimson Desert New Gameplay And Story Video Overview

After a rocky release, Crimson Desert has seen a resurgence in enjoyment as players get into the meat of the game.

When Crimson Desert first hit the shelves, it was overflowing with both good and bad reviews on its Steam page. Now, however, the reviews are sitting at very positive, a hallmark achievement for any game on Steam. In fact, Crimson Desert has sold three million copies worldwide in only six days since its initial release. The developers at Pearl Abyss have already stated on a February earnings conference call that they plan to continue working on the game and are ready to add quality-of-life improvements and even potential DLC.

Crimson Desert Preview - The Rpg That Could Redefine Open Worlds

As said by the official Crimson Desert X account, “We are grateful to share #CrimsonDesert has sold through 3 million copies worldwide. To everyone who has stepped into Pywel and shared this journey with us, thank you. Your feedback continues to help shape the experience, and we will keep working to make the journey ahead even more enjoyable for our players.”

Since its launch, Pearl Abyss has apparently been hard at work, as they have already released a patch to Crimson Desert. Focusing on making the play experience better for the player, the patch nerfed enemy bosses and added highly requested camp storage. They seem to be listening to the fans, as it has already been noted that many players dislike the current movement system, and Pearl Abyss plans to address it in a future update.

After only a week of being on the open market, Crimson Desert seems to be a pretty divisive game to talk about. Some people think it’s just a slop fest, while others think that it’s the greatest open-world game they have played. Sometimes you can run into a roadside execution and stop it, or you could just be exploring and stumble upon a diamond mine or legendary treasure hidden behind a wall. We will just have to wait and see whether or not Crimson Desert will go down in history.
