Crimson Desert Is Getting Another Massive Update, Adding Boss Rematches, Difficulty Settings, and More

Just three weeks after launch, Pearl Abyss has announced even more massive, potentially game-changing updates for Crimson Desert. The last few weeks have already seen sweeping changes to the game’s inventory, combat, fast travel, puzzle solving, and more.

In a new “dev update” post on the official Crimson Desert website, Pearly Abyss detailed a number of upcoming changes that the studio hopes to roll out gradually from April-June.

The three major ones are much-requested features by players, as you can see below.

■ Boss Rematches
The powerful bosses you encountered across Crimson Desert are waiting to challenge you once again. With boss rematches, you’ll have the opportunity to face off against any boss again, test how much you’ve grown, and further refine your own combat style through different strategies and approaches.

■ Re-blockading
Peace is fleeting, and darkness does not retreat so easily. Enemy remnants are waiting for their chance to reclaim liberated locations. Drive out the forces that have seized these locations once more and continue proving the strength of the Greymanes.

■ Difficulty Settings
A difficulty settings feature will be added so that everyone—from new Greymanes to the more advanced—can enjoy the adventure at the level that suits them best. You’ll be able to choose from easy, normal, and hard difficulty.

In addition to these core changes, Pearl Abyss will also be adding new skills for Damiane and Ooongka, an option to hide back weapons, and new outfits to obtain. There’s also a host of new quality-of-life features planned, the most important of which is expanded options for storage.

Food storage will be added to the game, letting players mass store ingredients and then use said ingredients directly from storage when cooking. There will also be a wardrobe option, gatherable storage, and more.

Finally, there are going to be some tweaks to make the UI more readable, control improvements, and some tweaks to improve distant scenery quality. Again, there’s currently no hard date for all of these updates, but theoretically, they should all roll out by June, and based on the current pace of updates, it’s not hard to believe.

Crimson Desert is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
