Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 can look forward to the game getting a lot more interesting with the newest 2.3 update.
In a livestream on the official Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube page, CD PROJEKT RED announced the game’s 2.3 update, which brings massive changes to the game. Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko and Lead Designer at Virtuos Adrien Jouannet spoke about the new update, saying the game was in a pretty good place, but they wanted to make the game feel fresher and playable.
Some of the main features of the updates in the Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update center around vehicles and traversal. Three new cars and one new motorcycle will be available with additional quests to unlock them, alongside an Auto-Drive and Delamain Taxi Service. Alongside this, almost every vehicle will now have expanded customization options.
As Jouannet explains, Auto-Drive allows players to select a point on the map and let the game take care of all the traversal for them. This feature will be available in every vehicle; however, Auto-Drive will only work on roads. While players can go to dedicated points in Night City, Auto-Drive will also feature a “Wander Mode,” which will cause the vehicle to drive endlessly.
On top of this, players will be given an expanded suite of features for Cyberpunk 2077’s Photo Mode, including better control of Time of Day, Frame skipping for more dynamic action shots, improved lighting control, and a host of additional characters, outfits, stickers and frames for players to really showcase their personality through Photo Mode.
On the technical side, the Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 update will allow for SSR 3.1 Frame Generation support as well as SSR 4 Frame Generation on PC, however, SSR 4 will come at a later date with an AMD driver update. The update will also support Intel XeSS 2.0 Frame Generation, as Sasko said the team wants to support as many new technologies as possible to best suit the individual needs of every player.
The Cyberpunk 2077 2.3 Update releases July 17th to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and recently Mac. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the 2.3 update will be released at a later date.
