CD Projekt Red is giving more PC-players the opportunity to play its acclaimed sci-fi RPG, as Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on Mac.
Announced via press release, Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion will be coming to the Mac App Store on July 17th, 2025. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Mac includes all free content and updates and every available patch, including the recent 2.3, which introduced new Photo Mode functionality, additional cars and more.
The Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 will also have several convenience features such as, “For this Mac” graphics presets individually optimized for every Apple Silicon Mac model; MetalFX upscaling, AMD FSR upscaling and frame generation optimized for Apple silicon, Dynamically calibrated HDR optimized for Apple XDR displays; HDR output supported on external displays with calibration, Magic Mouse and Trackpad compatibility and Cross-Progresson across all platforms.
Players using everything from M1 models to the recently released Macs with M4 and M3 family of chips —including the new iMac, MacBook Air, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and Mac Studio with M3 Ultra—can expect an experience optimized to their hardware and finely tuned to bring out the full capabilities of the Mac lineup. Cyberpunk 2077 fully utilizes Apple’s Tile-Based Deferred Rendering (TBDR) architecture by adding native Metal API support, leveraging Metal’s C++ interface and the Metal Shader Converter to optimize the rendering pipeline for Apple GPUs.
And that’s not all, Cyberpunk 2077 will also take advantage of the upcoming Metal 4 features—Metal FX Frame Interpolation and MetalFX Denoising—which will be available in a future update to the game. Metal FX Frame Interpolation generates an intermediate frame for every two input frames to achieve higher and more stable frames, while MetalFX Denoising enables real-time path tracing on the game’s highest graphics settings.
