An official Cyberpunk TCG has raised nearly $8 million on Kickstarter, hitting its $100,000 goal in five minutes and nearly hitting all bonus stretch goals.
The TCG market continues to grow at record speed, with new releases hitting the market regularly (like the recent League of Legends: Riftbound spin-off) and expansions being added to existing games (like Magic: The Gathering, Flesh and Blood, and One Piece) to keep things relevant.
The tabletop game company WeirdCo has decided to throw their hat in the ring. It has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Cyberpunk TCG, a new game set in the world and featuring the characters of CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk universe, first seen in Cyberpunk 2077, and expanded on in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The Kickstarter project has blown through its original goal by what Kickstarter is reporting as nearly 8,000 percent as of this posting. Right now, the campaign has raised $7.9 million, and it has 30 days left on Kickstarter. WeirdCo has dropped a hype trailer, and it can be seen below.
The debut Cyberpunk TCG set, Welcome to Night City, is set to launch later this year (in December 2026) and includes iconic characters from Cyberpunk 2077 like V, Jackie Welles, Johnny Silverhand, and Judy Álvarez. The second set in the TCG is set to expand the tabletop into the animated series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Within five minutes of going live, the $100,000 goal was met, and the Cyberpunk TCG is officially happening. After the project was officially funded, the team wrote a heartfelt message in the updates on Kickstarter, saying, “Thanks to your incredible support, Cyberpunk TCG has been funded in just 5 minutes! Seeing the project reach its goal so quickly has been surreal. All of us here at WeirdCo have spent a long time building up to this moment, from designing the cards to developing the gameplay systems, working with amazing artists, and preparing for this campaign launch.”
It doesn’t stop there. As fans keep blowing past the Kickstarter stretch goals, WeirdCo continues to deploy more of them. WeirdCo has now added further stretch goals, including a Legend Pack Upgrade: Johnny Silverhand at $8.5 million raised (this card will be added to the card pool), card sleeves at $9 million, and another legend pack upgrade, Saburo Arasaka, at $9.5 million.
If the Kickstarter hits the $10 million milestone, all backers from the “Common Cyberdecks” tier to “Night City Legend” tiers will receive a Kickstarter exclusive Nova Rare Rebecca: Having a Moment card, and one additional Legend Pack will be added to the Beta Box.
TCG enthusiasts should take note that by contributing to the Kickstarter, players can access other exclusive items and card arts that will only be available as part of this promotion.
