Behaviour Interactive announced the return of 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight, collaborating with Resident Evil, featuring The Nemesis and The Mastermind, outfits, and more.
From February 10 – 25, 2v8 mode will be returning to Dead by Daylight, but in collaboration with the iconic horror franchise Resident Evil. During the collaboration, The Nemesis and The Mastermind, also known as Albert Wesker, will be joining the 2v8 Killer roaster alongside new special gameplay features, the Raccoon City Police Department in the Maps rotation, and unlockable Legendary Outfits. During the event, all the Resident Evil characters in the game will be free to play as in the 2v8 mode.
To enhance the 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight and celebrate the Resident Evil collaboration, the gameplay will introduce a new mechanic inspired by the iconic horror franchise. Focusing on the two Killers, they can infect and weaken Survivors—The Nemesis using the T-Virus and The Mastermind employing Uroboros. If both are chosen as the Killers in a 2v8 Trial, a single antidote will become a default item in the Supply Crate, allowing Survivors to cure either infection. To accommodate the high demand for playing as The Nemesis and The Mastermind in the upcoming game mode, Dead by Daylight will add two bots to every match to help reduce Killer queue times.
Additionally, the franchise’s signature herbs will be exclusive to the 2v8 mode. Survivors can collect Green Herbs to restore one health state and Yellow Herbs to heal one Hook State. These herbs will be scattered across the map at the beginning of the match, but Killers can destroy them, which slightly increases their movement speed.
Alongside The Nemesis and The Mastermind entering the 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight, many unlockable outfits arrive for many existing Resident Evil characters. From what is known, The Nemesis will receive The Nemesis Origin Outfit and The Mastermind, also known as Albert Wesker, will receive the New Dawn Outfit from his Resident Evil 4 Remake appearance. For the Survivors, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, and Rebecca Chambers will receive a new classic outfit added to their wardrobes.
