Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Limited Edition Controller Revealed

Limited-edition DualSense Wireless controllers have been released to celebrate special PlayStation titles, and today, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has revealed theirs.

Kojima Productions is no stranger to limited-edition hardware. Today, the PlayStation Blog has revealed Kojima Productions is bringing out a new hardware item to celebrate the release of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The original Death Stranding saw Sony roll out the red carpet for a limited-edition PlayStation 4 Pro console release. The PS4 Pro was released in November 2019 on the same day as Death Stranding, and the Death Stranding 2 limited edition controller is following the same protocol with a limited edition controller release.

Sony’s Vice President of Global Marketing, Isabelle Tomatis said “We worked closely with Kojima Productions on the controller design, customized with the insignia and motto of Drawbridge in vibrant orange.” The limited edition controller will be available at retail for $84.99, which is $10 more than a base DualSense model (previous limited edition controllers, like the ASTRO BOT version, released the same price tag).

Interestingly enough, Death Stranding superfans can also buy a Collector’s Edition version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (without the console included this time), with included collectibles any Kojima Productions fan would have fear of missing out on. The entire contents of the Collector’s Edition version of the sequel can be seen below and pre-ordered now on the PlayStation Direct website.
