After The Final Shape brought Guardians closure on the Light and Darkness saga, Destiny 2 looks ahead to The Edge of Fate, which is scheduled for a formal reveal in May.

This week in Destiny 2, Bungie unveiled its immediate plans following the end of the extinction threat posed by The Witness. The studio has opened the doors to its next major content reveal with the official title The Edge of Fate. In addition to the name reveal, Bungie also acknowledged the “blocky” Rite of the Nine weapons and outlined upcoming double Nightfall rewards for the week.

First things first: Bungie has detailed that the upcoming week will offer numerous boons for Guardians who participate in specified activities. The featured Nightfall will be Sunless Cell for the first time, and Destiny 2 is rolling out the red carpet with double Nightfall rewards to mark the occasion.

That’s not all. For adept Guardians, those who complete the Grandmaster difficulty of Sunless Cell will be able to re-roll the featured Adept reward: the legendary Void hand cannon, The Palindrome. This marks the second time The Palindrome has been featured since its reprisal, making this a key Nightfall strike to master for Guardians chasing the “god roll.”

Destiny 2 has also acknowledged the existence of “blocky” weapons granted to Guardians who completed Rites of the Nine—before the activity was officially available. In a blog post, Bungie wrote: “During this time, rewards associated with these activities were available in a… primordial state. You all got to see what the first steps in our weapon creation usually look like, at least from an in-game perspective. Blocky geometry, smooth textures and placeholder perks,” adding that the weapons will unfortunately have to be removed from the game. To mark the discovery, Destiny 2 will grant players 1,500 currency, redeemable with the Emissary for rewards, starting May 6.

Guardians should mark their calendars for the official reveal of Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate, as a full reveal video will be released on May 6 at 12 p.m. ET. For fans seeking more information, Bungie has also outlined a number of fixes and known bugs in a recent blog post, which can be found on their official website.
