Destiny 2: Heresy Brings Star Wars Skins and Oryx's Throne World Returns

Destiny 2: Heresy‘s livestream this week unveiled what’s to come with their newest episode for the third act Star Wars skins and Oryx’s Throne World premiere.

On Sunday evening, Bungie unveiled the first Destiny 2 developer live stream to give Guardians notable intel on the game’s third episode and final epilogue of the Light and Darkness Saga. Bungie has revealed the third epilogue will be called Heresy, and longtime original Destiny fans will recall the Dreadnaught, Throne World to Oryx, still orbits Saturn and will make a return in Heresy. With the return of the Taken King‘s ship, Bungie has also revealed Guardians will be able to wear skins pulled directly from a galaxy far, far away. Star Wars skins are coming to Destiny 2, and the entire development livestream can be found below.

Destiny 2 Narrative Director Nikko Stevens says, “The Dreadnaught has reawakened for the first time in almost a decade, spurring the Vanguard and Guardians across the system to take notice. We finally get to see what has become of the Dreadnaught years after Oryx was felled and its halls were left to corrode, without a Navigator.” This will be the first time Guardians will see the Dreadnaught’s aftermath following Oryx’s demise.

In Heresy, Guardians return to the Dreadnaught in a new activity called The Nether. The Nether activity serves as a reason for Guardians to be aboard the Dreadnaught, and it’s up to fireteams to dismantle the ship’s armaments and stop the corruption from spreading. Fireteams will face bigger challenges during The Nether, and by completing a bubble inside The Nether activity, boons can be granted like previous Destiny 2 Hive-related content.

Editorial Lead at Bungie, Brian Ekberg, writes, “With lessons learned from previous rogue-lite experiments in Destiny 2 such as The Coil from Season of the Wish and Deep Dives from Season of the Deep, Guardians can also look forward to a constantly varied experience. For example, after completing a bubble, the Power level of enemies increase. In addition, the activity introduces a new twist to the combat formula in the form of boons that directly affect gameplay,” bringing all Hive activities (or variants of) to the Dreadnaught.

Aside from the exciting third episode reveal, Bungie has also revealed a collaboration with Lucasfilms confirming Star Wars skins will be coming to Destiny 2. Guardians can channel their inner soldiers of the Galactic Empire, and Titans will be able to don the iconic armour of the Storm Trooper. Guardian Ghosts will also get a Death Star-inspired shell to complete the look.

Destiny 2: Heresy launches on February 4, and fans can find the official release on the PlayStation Blog.
