The Diablo 30th Anniversary Spotlight is a celebration of 30 years of the franchise, but also a preview of what’s to come when the Warlock class arrives.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzLkL-Agp9kAt the Diablo 30th Anniversary spotlight, Blizzard unveiled many updates coming to the existing systems of the Diablo franchise, including that the Warlock is the next class coming to Diablo IV, Diablo II: Resurrected, and Diablo Immortal. While the Paladin originally debuted in Diablo 2 and has recently been brought to Sanctuary in Diablo IV, the Warlock is a brand new class coming to both titles and operates as the opposite of the holy warrior, channelling dark magic to pit vicious demons against each other. A trailer has been revealed in celebration of the big anniversary, and it can be seen below.
What’s most surprising about the Warlock class reveal is that it is also coming as a full-fledged expansion in Diablo II: Resurrected, aside from being included with the upcoming Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion and Diablo Immortal. Diablo II: Resurrected is getting a new expansion called Reign of the Warlock – and it’s out today for PC (including Steam), PlayStation, and Xbox for $24.99. This is the first time new content has been added to 2021’s Resurrected that hasn’t been seen in the 2001 original game.
Reign of the Warlock brings quality-of-life changes and tweaks to Terror Zones to Diablo II: Resurrected. The Chronicle will allow players to manage their inventories more consistently, and Terrorized bosses beaten on the same difficulty mode will unveil statues, encouraging players to combine five of them to access new endgame bosses called the Colossal Ancients. Players will also be able to create, share, and check out community loot filters without using mods.

The Diablo 30th Anniversary spotlight shed light on how the Lord of Hatred expansion will increase the size of Diablo IV with the new Skovos location (like the jungles of Nahantu before it). Players will be able to unearth the origins of Sanctuary in a new narrative for the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion and explore the capital city of Temis.
Alongside the new Skovos map expansion, the entire skill tree is being reworked in Diablo IV, whether players adopt the Lord of Hatred expansion or not. During the presentation, the Sorcerer’s Hydra skill could be fine-tuned to increase attack speed and use multi-elemental projectiles, and other skills will be reworked. This is to give players a more hands-on experience crafting their playstyles from early on.
The Warlock class revealed at the Diablo 30th Anniversary spotlight is coming to Diablo IV on April 28, 2026, as part of the Lord of Hatred expansion, the class arrives in Diablo Immortal in June 2026, and it can be played today as part of the Reign of the Warlock expansion in Diablo II: Resurrected. More information on the Diablo 30th Anniversary can be found on the official Blizzard site.
