Diablo III: Reaper of Sales

Diablo III:  Reaper of Souls has sold 2.7 million copies worldwide in it’s first week of sales.

The expansion launched on March 25 on PC and Mac, taking players to the Pandemonium Fortress to face the Angel of Death.

It comes with a bunch of new features as well.  The new Crusader Class, Mystic, a craftsman that customizes gear, a new Adventure Mode that allows players to roam Sanctuary freely, Bounties, where players can collect gold for randomized missions and a new level cap of 70. Even with these new additions, players should feel at home with this expansion.

“With Reaper of Souls, we wanted to emphasize all the things that Diablo gamers have always loved about the series, from the dark gothic setting to the piles and piles of epic loot,” says CEO and co founder of Blizzard, Mike Morhaime.

While 2.7 million units sold is an impressive number, Diablo III has the record for the fastest selling PC game ever with 3.5 million copies it’s first 24 hours.

It’s reach will grow even more later this year when Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition hits store shelves on the PlayStation 4 followed by Xbox One sometime after.
