Blizzard Entertainment has announced a limited-time crossover event with the DOOM: The Dark Ages universe colliding with the Diablo Immortal universe.
Taking place between April 16th and May 13th, the Diablo Immortal sanctuary will be overhauled to include a ton of DOOM-inspired enemies, gameplay, cosmetics, and more. This crossover is a limited-time reimagining of Survivor’s Bane, now called Slayer’s Bane, a recurring event in the game where you fight waves of enemies. This time, however, you will gain access to a coterie of DOOM-inspired skills to use throughout the event, with six total being available to the player. You could use the chain shield that served the Doomslayer well in the Dark Ages, or you could just shoot a bunch of lead, your choice.

Diablo Immortal’s newly added Imps aren’t the only danger on the field; the Cyberdemon also stalks the battlefield as the main boss of the event. Designed to stop the Scourge of Hell, it is now your job to finish him off and claim victory for your own.
A brand new 2-star gem has also been added with this collaboration, also DOOM themed, The Crucible. When this gem is in your possession, it will deal damage to enemies who are below a certain amount of health, and when they get low enough, you will slaughter them. The damage caused during a slaughter will increase the lower their health is, and when they are slain soon after being slaughtered, you will gain access to the Slayer’s Rage. Slayer’s Rage increases damage and movement speed, and, of course, this effect stacks. When you slay another player, you instantly get the maximum amount of stacked effects, but Slaughter also only works once every few seconds in battle.

Aside from gameplay, there are also newly added DOOM weapon cosmetics available to earn throughout the Diablo Immortal event. They are “forged in the image of the Night Sentinels and powered by searing Argent Energy,” according to the blog post. If you want even more cool DOOM stuff, then you will be glad to know that the Phantom Market now has the Doomslayer’s Praetor Armour available. And as one last bonus, there are two new familiar transmogs with the Doomslayer’s mount Serrat and the Cacodemon, which can both be transformed into a low-altitude flying mode.
There’s never an end to Doom Guy’s hatred for demons; embody that in this crossover.
