Blizzard Entertainment launches Diablo IV Season 8, Belial’s Return, on April 29, featuring a questline centred on Belial’s attempt to warp reality, new events, a Berserk collaboration and more.
Following Diablo IV’s Season of Witchcraft and the 2025 roadmap, Blizzard Entertainment has offered a glimpse of what players can expect from Season 8. Launching April 29, players will take on Belial before he can warp reality, collect the powers of 24 bosses, earn rewards and more.

Released in 2023, Diablo IV invites players to enter Hell alone or with friends to slay enemies, master various abilities and collect legendary loot. As they forge their path through the Sanctuary, they combat evil by rescuing corrupted towns, completing quests and engaging in challenges to test their worth. After finishing the story, players can continue their adventure in the endgame, which includes battling powerful demons in the Pit, customizing their build through Paragon Boards, and participating in seasonal Battle Pass content and limited-time events to expand their arsenal.
In Belial’s Return, players can clash with Belial, the Lord of Lies, who is hellbent on warping reality, alongside two bosses from the Vessel of Hatred expansion in the updated Lair Boss system. Alongside these additions, waves of enemies will plague the Sanctuary during Apparition Incursion events, offering more rewards in a boss rush–style format.

In a world filled with demons and bosses, players can collect 24 boss powers, offering 48 main and modifier combinations, and earn Spectral Ash from Apparition Legion events to upgrade their abilities. The boss powers players can wield include Lilith’s Wave Blast, Duriel’s Burrow, Grigore’s Lightning Square, Beast in Ice’s Spikes and more.
One of the most notable updates coming to Diablo IV is the new Reliquary system, which revamps the Battle Pass and provides more choice regarding rewards. In addition to the revamped Battle Pass, the game will also receive several quality-of-life improvements, including:
- New Lair Bosses.
- New Challenges.
- Improved Boss Loot.
- Teleport to Party Member.
Lastly, Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal will collaborate with the legendary Berserk franchise from May 6 to June 3. As the series’ first collaboration outside Blizzard IP, players can wear themed outfits and wield Guts’ iconic Dragon Slayer to hack and slash through demons.
These are just some of the key features fans can look forward to in Diablo IV’s upcoming season, Belial’s Return. Fans can visit the Blizzard Entertainment website to stay up to date with Diablo IV and learn more about Season 8.
