The new Diablo IV expansion, Vessel of Hatred, has just launched, and on Tuesday, Blizzard announced a new “Vases of Hatred” campaign for fans looking to spread the hatred with others.
Bringing the hatred to the world through an immersive double event, Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred allows fans to embrace their hate by delivering real-life flowers to those in need of a holiday pick-me-up. Starting today, complimentary and limited quantities of flowers can be sent to friends, enemies, or anyone in between (especially those who call players “bruh”) in New York City and Los Angeles while supplies last. For fans outside these cities, they can still send their frenemies a digital card and bouquet while also receiving an in-game reward. The trailer supporting the event is available below, and the live event coincides with an in-game event.
Senior Director of Brand Marketing for Diablo, Daniela Rodriguez, said, “With Vases of Hatred, we are giving players a unique opportunity to share a playfully dark message with their cherished rivals or favourite foes, while reminding them just how far-reaching Mephisto’s power has become,” referring to Mephisto’s influence extending beyond Sanctuary and into the real world in this immersive double event.
In addition to the Diablo IV Vases of Hatred event, New Yorkers may also encounter the Acolyte of Hatred, a demon-like entity from the depths of Sanctuary, slowly hauling a flower cart through the city. This demon is sent to distribute flowers to unsuspecting pedestrians, haunting the Big Apple with the most nefarious of blooms.

Mojo Supermarket Group Creative Director Gianmaria Schonlieb said, “The new Diablo IV expansion puts the malevolence of Mephisto on full display, and we needed a concept that would shake the gaming world and bring that wickedness to life. Enter Vases of Hatred: the first-ever bouquet made out of evil, filled with real toxic flowers, and designed for the rivals you truly love to chafe,” commenting on how giving flowers is typically a sign of affection, but not this Halloween season.
The creepy event starts today, and all Diablo IV fans can participate. However, those in New York may encounter a nasty surprise while walking around the city. For more information on the event, fans can visit the Blizzard website.
