The iconic global culture brand Sanrio has announced today that they have partnered with Discord to add themed profile icons of its iconic characters.
Starting today, Discord users can search through the Discord storefront to find and buy their favorite characters from the brand. The characters that are included in this partnership are Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Chococat, and more. Users can buy these cute new profile cosmetics for $10.99 CAD if you are not a Discord Nitro subscriber, but if you do have a Nitro subscription, it will only cost $8.99 CAD.
The cool part is that you can mix and match each cosmetic across characters, but if you are looking to save a bit more money, then you could always just get a bundle. These bundles are available for Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Pochacco, Kuromi, My Melody, Chococat, LittleTwinStars, and Keroppi. If you do buy one of these bundles, then you would be glad to know that they are as much as 15 percent off compared to just buying the singular ones of each character. Although they are still pretty costly, Canadians, at any rate, are paying $28.99 CAD for bundles like Hello Kitty and PomPomPurin.
To their credit, the designs are supremely cute. Hello Kitty has a profile effect where she comes in lying on a blossoming sakura tree while PomPomPurin rolls through with a gust of wind and grass. These Sanrio cosmetics will be available to purchase through Discord all the way through to April 2027. Even though that is a long time away, they are still a rare commodity because five years from now, most people will not be able to show off their profile page using cute characters.
