Disney Lorcana Lays Out The 2025 Roadmap

Today at the London Toy Fair, Ravensburger pulled back the curtain on Disney Lorcana‘s next set, Archazia’s Island, and teased the next two sets on the trading card game’s 2025 schedule.

Archazia’s Island is named for a new, original character in the game’s slowly expanding canon. Until now, we’ve only known that “friendly pets abound” on this mysterious island, and that intrepid Illumineers will uncover another ancient secret there—and we’ve seen one card, Moana—Adventurer of Land and Sea, distributed at Moana 2 screenings last month.

Now it appears that Archazia is some kind of bird creature, as seen in new art from the set published today. Mulan and her comrades can be seen in the background, exploring some gravity-defying paths alongside the 101 Dalmations, Belle, the Beast, Alice, and Martin, one of Disney Lorcana‘s protagonists. It remains to be seen what kind of creature Archazia is, and what she’s protecting (or hiding), but we do know a few details about the other products offered in her eponymous set.

It seems Archazia’s Island will be skipping the Gift Set products again, but the ever-popular Illumineer’s Trove boxes return. This time its packaging features Encanto‘s Mirabel, the Mad Hatter, and Bolt; the latter’s film is represented in Disney Lorcana for the first time here, and speaks to the “pet” theme teased in the set’s original announcement. The playmats continue their trend of being slightly behind the times, featuring art from previous sets—highlighting Big Hero 6 and Tigger, namely, while the card sleeves offer new art of Cinderella and Ursula.

The premade decks for Archazia’s Island offer, perhaps, the most logical pairings Disney Lorcana has presented in this form before. Belle and the Beast are the faces of the Ruby and Sapphire deck, while Jafar and Iago lead an Amethyst and Steel deck. It remains to be seen what each deck will specialize in.

This does, however, lead directly into Disney Lorcana‘s next set, due in June 2025: Reign of Jafar. Whatever happens on Archazia’s Island might not stay there, as a glimmer of the ambitious vizier appears to have seized the island for himself, and turned it into his very own fortress. It sounds like similar stakes to those players faced in Ursula’s Return, and with any luck, perhaps that will lead to another interesting play experience like Illumineer’s Quest: Deep Trouble.

Ravensburger also announced the next set after Reign of Jafar: Fabled. This release, the ninth set overall, will arrive in Q3 2025—likely in September, right after the game’s second anniversary. Little was revealed about Fabled, but it seems to be speaking to Disney’s roots in storybooks and fairy tales, judging by its catchphrase, “Welcome To The Story,” and its charming key art of Mickey and Minnie riding a carousel in royal attire.

Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island will release March 7 at local game stores, Disney Stores, and Disney Parks, followed by a wide mass market retail release on March 21. Reign of Jafar will follow on June 6.
