Starting today, Canadian moviegoers who make the voyage to see Moana 2 in theatres can score a special promotional card for Disney Lorcana, thanks to the game’s publisher, Ravensburger, and Cineplex.
Beginning today, December 4, fans will receive a unique preview card from Disney Lorcana, featuring artwork inspired by the movie, when they purchase tickets to see Moana 2. The card, Moana—Adventurer of Land and Sea, will appear in the trading card game’s seventh, currently unnamed set when it arrives in game stores next year, but Canadian moviegoers can get their hands on the card early—and with a silver foil treatment, no less.

The promotional giveaway will continue while supplies last, with one card per ticket.
If you were headed to see Moana 2 in the theatre anyway but aren’t aware of the card game, Disney Lorcana is a trading card game (TCG) that reimagines famous Disney characters in a variety of ways. Players summon these characters to the playing field in the form of cards, called “glimmers,” and compete to score 20 points, called Lore, before their opponents can. The game launched in summer 2023 and quickly carved out its own niche in the busy TCG market, competing with the likes of Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering.
Moana herself has already been featured prominently in several of the game’s six expansions, gracing the packaging for the game’s wildly popular debut set, The First Chapter. She even appears in the most recent set, Azurite Sea, in reimagined fashion as the leader of the chaotic Kakamora pirates.
If the promo card will be your first brush with the game, check out CGM’s Lorcana Buyer’s Guide; the game’s instructional set, Gateway, also makes a great Christmas gift for Disney fans of all ages.
Moana 2, which hit theatres last week, is already surpassing the original film’s domestic box office, kicking off a fierce holiday movie season competition. CGM’s Ridge Harripersad called it “a step-up to the first film” that sees the heroine challenged to truly become a leader while embarking on a new voyage.
