After a mainline title hiatus since 2018, Square Enix has surprisingly announced Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is coming in 2026, and it will be for mobile devices.
Square Enix has announced a new title today that serves as a follow-up to one of the most fan-requested series in their catalogue, the mobile Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, is coming in 2026. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy is a new free-to-play entry in the Dissidia Final Fantasy arena action spin-off series, and it is billed as a three vs. three team boss battle arena, where the player is tasked with defeating opposing monsters and a large boss from the Final Fantasy series before their rival team. Square Enix has also provided a new trailer for the title, and it can be seen below.
Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy ditches the fantasy setting and opts for a realistic version of modern-day Tokyo as its battlefield. After a mysterious crystal appears in the modern world, Final Fantasy heroes are summoned to clean up the gaggle of monsters (and the terror they bring) that arrived with the crystal. These Final Fantasy heroes conceal their identities and vanish after battle, which is why they are referred to as ‘ghosts.’ It’s worth mentioning that Dissidia will release in 2026, and it will feature full voice acting.
How to Sign Up For The Android Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Beta

Alongside the new mobile title announcement, Square Enix is also inviting players to sign up for a closed beta test that will let fans get their hands on the title early. Unfortunately, the closed beta test has been confirmed as an Android platform exclusive (although the full release will also be available for iOS). The recruitment period runs from today, October 14, until October 28, and the beta test will occur from November 7 until November 14. The beta test is also restricted by location; only users in the United States and Canada will be granted entry (and entry will only be granted to 20,000 participants globally).
To apply, fans can sign up for the beta test here until October 28. Fans can also visit the official Square Enix website for more information on Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy.
