Bioware has deployed numerous fixes in its latest Patch 3 notes for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, including quality-of-life adjustments and bug extermination.
Upon Patch 3’s release, Electronic Arts has mentioned it “has multiple quality of life changes and many bug fixes” as they continue to update Dragon Age: The Veilguard. This is the third big patch since the latest Dragon Age launched less than a month ago, and Bioware is committed to continually updating the experience until all bugs are exterminated. This is considering they have also said “We’ll have another patch to talk about soon” at the top of Patch 3’s notes.

On the quality-of-life side of things, Photo Mode has gotten some new updates namely that each photo taken in Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be date stamped now to remind players when they took the shot. Further, filters have been added to Photo Mode, adding an Instagram feel to Thedas. Other quality decisions range from arrow key mapping, and Rook can finally compare a newly obtained ring equipment to both ring slots now, whereas Dragon Age: The Veilguard only previously let players compare it to one at a time.

With bug fixes, unfortunately, there are bad fixes too. There was an exploit players could deploy if struggling with particularly harder encounters, that allowed party member Bellara to endlessly charge Rook’s ultimate ability outside of combat (to have it prepared each time upon entering combat). This has now been fixed according to the official Patch 3 notes. Aside from the singular good-for-the-player exploit, other bugs have been squashed. These range from very unfortunate unexpected game crashes to hilarious odd character behaviour during cutscenes. Party members will also no longer get stuck on balance beams or in more enclosed spaces, keeping The Veilguard on the right path.
Bioware has noted they have more updates planned after Patch 3, so fans can count on developers to continue working on providing a smooth experience with Dragon Age; The Veilguard.
