Bioware's Exciting Dragon Age: The Veilguard Finally Has a Release Date in 2024

BioWare has launched a new trailer for its upcoming title, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, and the trailer confirms the title will be released in 2024.

It seems until three months ago, fans knew nothing about the upcoming third title in the Dragon Age series, and now, after a massive preview showcasing gameplay additions, it appears it will be released just four months after an exciting first look (and first trailer) revealed gameplay and a name change from Dreadwolf to The Veilguard. Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be out in October 2024. The latest trailer can be seen below, courtesy of BioWare. (SPOILER WARNING: Dragon Age: Inquisition will be spoiled if you continue).

Dragon Age: The Veilguard takes place after the events of Inquisition, and the now-revealed antagonist Solas, the Dread Wolf (and revealed Elven Trickster god of legend), wants to eliminate the Veil that separates Thedas from the world of demons, and he makes a critical error and instead of removing the Veil to restore his people to their former immortal glory, he unleashes two ancient and powerful adversaries that want to dominate the world. That’s where the player comes in, as Rook you have to travel across the entirety of Thedas to prevent their domination.

In the lengthy, nearly three-minute trailer, we get a good look at what Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature. With Solas angry about his disrupted ritual, you set out on a mission to gather allies. We see many of the diverse teammates your character, Rook, puts together and even a sneak peek at what some of those Dragon Age love affairs might look like, too.

EA has previously released a look at some of the new companions, seen in the photos below:
