During the November PlayStation State of Play, FromSoftware revealed the upcoming DLC for Elden Ring Nightreign is right around the corner, and it will feature the return of a fan-favourite Dark Souls boss fight from 2012.

Many things were announced at the PlayStation State of Play November showcase, including new looks at Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and spin-offs like BlazBlue Entropy Effect X. FromSoftware also made an appearance to tease the first expansion of Elden Ring Nightreign, and to longtime fans of Dark Souls, they’re in for a treat. During the new trailer, FromSoftware revealed many new additions coming to Nightreign, including two new playable Nightfarers and two new bosses to square up against, including a teaser for the return of the fan-favourite boss fight, Artorias from Dark Souls: Artorias of the Abyss DLC. The trailer can be seen below.

This isn’t the first time FromSoftware dug through their archives to bring a Dark Souls boss to the three-day cycle of Nightreign. Elden Ring Nightreign brought out the likes of the Gaping Dragon and Centipede Demon boss fights from Dark Souls, and The Nameless King can also be fought from Dark Souls 3 on the fields of Limveld. Bringing back another fan-favourite seems like a no-brainer, but seeing as how it is happening, fans can remain hopeful that their favourite boss from FromSoftware’s catalogue might make a cameo in Nightreign.

Aside from the return of Artorias (who can seemingly impale Nightfarers on his sword), FromSoftware introduced two new classes to the equation: the Undertaker and the Scholar, who will add different ways to approach Limveld. The Undertaker boasts high strength and faith stats, bringing spells and heavy hits to the fray. The Scholar brings a high arcane stat to the battlefield, but as far as the Nightfarer abilities go, they’re still a surprise. Joining Artorias, another new boss is hitting the fields of Limveld, and it appears to be a seven-sharp spear-wielding confrontation that evens the odds against a Nightfarer team of three.

Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows DLC launches on December 4.
