The next character revealed for Elden Ring: Nightreign may seem familiar to Network Test players, as the Duchess graces Limveld in the newest character trailer.

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have once again thrilled Tarnished players everywhere with another character reveal this week. Last week, the long-range specialist Nightfarer, the Ironeye, was introduced — highlighting the importance of fighting the night in Limveld with precision and range. Today, another Nightfarer character class was revealed — one that was playable in the limited Network Test for Elden Ring: Nightreign. The Duchess appeared in a new trailer, which can be viewed below:

Previously announced Nightfarer characters include Wylder, Guardian, Duchess, Recluse and Ironeye. With the Duchess, there are now six total characters for players to deploy against the Night. While the Duchess doesn’t initially have access to long-range revival, this Nightfarer favours precise gameplay and timing over the tankier or more specialist options. She comes equipped with a stab-focused rapier and the Restage ability, which allows her to replay certain actions and abilities to turn the tide against stronger foes.

Before the Duchess, another Network Test character, the Recluse, was revealed to Elden Ring: Nightreign fans. Like in the test, the Recluse can siphon FP from enemies and allies to sustain spellcasting, using a mix of spells and catalysts to eliminate threats. Her unique Magic Cocktail ability lets players unleash a torrent of abilities upon the Night hordes.

FromSoftware continues to emphasize multiplayer components in its games — first with Elden Ring: Nightreign, and now with the recently revealed The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. However, the studio remains committed to single-player experiences, according to game director Hidetaka Miyazaki.

So far, with the Duchess trailer reveal, six characters have been confirmed for Elden Ring: Nightreign. It has previously been announced that eight playable characters will be available at launch, so fans can expect at least two more to emerge from the shadows.

Elden Ring Nightreign launches on May 30 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows.
