FromSoftware just announced brand new details for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Switch 2, including never-before-seen armour and character classes.
More Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition news has been revealed at the first FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025 held in Tokyo today, and journalists from Japanese publications Famitsu and Dengeki attended the event to reveal the new announcements on a global scale, following the inaugural Spring 2025 event. The information adds to details released last month during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct.

Previously released details revealed new customization options for Torrent, the player Tarnished’s trusted steed. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will also include the full Shadow of the Erdtree DLC on day one, allowing Nintendo Switch 2 owners to take on the new challenge from launch. Additional customization options for the Tarnished were also announced. At the FromSoftware Games Event, three new appearance options for Torrent and four new armour sets for the player were showcased.
In addition to the new appearance options, gameplay is being expanded with two new classes available on the character creator screen in Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. The two new classes, translated as “Knight of Ides” and “Heavy Armoured Knight,” each feature two of the four new armour sets revealed at the event. Both classes were displayed on the character select screen, and an image of the class selection can be seen below, courtesy of Famitsu.

All of the new content included in the Nintendo Switch 2 Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will be released to fans on the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC platforms under the Tarnished Pack DLC add-on. Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 at an TBD date in 2025.
