Returning to the Frontier, CCP Games announces EVE Frontier will enter Cycle 5 of Founder Access on March 11, 2026, titled Shroud of Fear.
From the creators of EVE Online, the spin-off title EVE Frontier launches its 5th cycle, Shroud of Fear, on March 11, 2026, introducing many new updates for returning and new players to look forward to. As players explore the Space Survival MMO to rebuild Frontier’s lost civilization, Cycle 5 of Founder Access features the Shell industry, Orbital Zones, redefined traversal and combat system, and much more.

Set in the EVE universe, CCP Games’ upcoming spin-off title, EVE Frontier, invites players to the shattered galaxy called Frontier. Stepping into the ruthless universe, players must utilize Smart Assembles to craft their infrastructure, build and defend their base, partake in tense battles, earn Grace from completing missions to convert into EVE points at the end of a cycle, and much more.
The biggest feature to arrive in EVE Frontier: Shroud of Fear is the Shell industry, allowing players to produce and store the clone bodies they inhabit. Introducing the Nursery manufacturing facility and the Nest storage facility, players can craft new Shells and utilize Crowns to manage their skills and capabilities. However, if a Shell is destroyed, players could lose their skills and memories imprinted on that body due to the harsh nature of the Frontier if they are not prepared.
Alongside the Shell industry, EVE Frontier: Shroud of Fear will replace dungeons with Orbital Zones, a relentless ecosystem across the solar systems, while distributing resources, NPCs, and loot. Additionally, Feral AI can now patrol and shift between points of interest based on its surroundings and defend key locations. Lastly, two new types of rifts and crude matter will be available across most star systems, giving players earlier, more regular access to the crude industry.
Expanding the base building in EVE Frontier, Construction Sites will now support collaborative building through Network Nodes as players deliver materials before structures go online. In addition to collaborative building, multiple players can establish a base at the L-Points, thereby increasing cooperation and conflict. Lastly, three specialized turrets will arrive to revamp the defensive infrastructure, including the Autocannon Turret to eliminate smaller ships, the Plasma Turret to counter mid-sized threats, and the Railgun Turret to engage larger combat vessels.

Redefining combat to highlight the differences between light and heavy ships, lighter hulls can now accelerate faster, create tighter flight paths and include slot layouts for active defences. In contrast, heavier ships provide greater mass, higher top speeds and stronger passive durability. Players can also manufacture the new Exclave frigate, designed for high-mobility pilots who value precision.
Alongside the combat changes, traversal has also been updated. Fuel now features new properties that affect consumption, and passive scanning systems allow players to detect signatures in space and monitor their surroundings. Before wrapping up, CCP Games confirmed that EVE Frontier will migrate from Ethereum to the Sui blockchain. Launching on the same day as Shroud of Fear, the 2026 Frontier Hackathon will invite builders to develop mods, with a prize pool of $80,000.
For players looking to roam the ruthless galaxy during the Shroud of Fear update, EVE Frontier Founder Access will be available for $19.99 at a limited time from March 11 to 31, 2026.
