CCP Games has announced the 2025 roadmap for the popular MMO EVE Online, with two major expansions arriving, an in-game event and the return of EVE Fanfest.
CCP Games has shared the 2025 roadmap with the fans during a special Directors’ Stream, showcasing what the players can expect for EVE Online this year. The roadmap includes the announcement of two major expansions, a return of fan-favourite in-game events, and a reunion at the EVE Fanfest 2025 from May 1-3 at Reykjavík’s iconic Harpa Concert Hall.

With the Revenant narrative arc continuing to unfold, the next expansion for EVE Online will be focusing on the rising tension between the Deathless and the Drifters, arriving in Summer 2025. As it focuses on empowering the players within the sandbox, the expansion will offer enhanced tools for customizing player-owned sovereign space, enabling capsuleers to set their agendas and create content for the communities. The upgrades were designed to give corporations a higher degree of agency, deepening the dynamic and player-driven gameplay within New Eden.
Introducing the Freelance Project in EVE Online will open the door to new levels of collaboration, allowing the pilots to craft and complete missions created by their fellow capsuleers. From mercenary contracts to collaborative ventures, the new system creates new opportunities for storytelling, conflict, exploration, and relationship-building. Not to mention, there will be new ships, tactical objectives, and tools for all fleet sizes as the future of wars continues to be reshaped. The new addition will offer fertile ground for small and large fleets to succeed and push the EVE Online sandbox to the next level.
But you can’t talk about the popular MMO without mentioning the in-game events. Returning in 2025, fans of EVE Online can look forward to Capsuleer Day, Crimson Harvest, Winter Nexus, and the Alliance Tournament, a fierce competition among New Eden’s finest fleets. But be sure to keep your eye on the second expansion when the time comes, as it will arrive in Winter 2025.

Lastly, the EVE Fanfest will be returning this year from May 1-3 at Reykjavík’s, Harpa Concert Hall. Although the tickets are nearly sold out, Capsuleers looking to attend the event can purchase the tickets now at Eventbrite starting at $35 USD. Those who are eager to experience the full Fanfest can purchase the Festival Pass for $295 USD as it includes access to the legendary Party at the Top of the World, exclusive EVE Online in-game content, an EVE Fanfest 2025 t-shirt, and a goodie bag.
