At EVE Fanfest 2025, CCP Games rolled out the red carpet for new details about EVE Vanguard, including Nemesis, a new public access event, plus a release window for early access.
What would EVE Fanfest be without some big date announcements regarding EVE Online and its spinoffs? We already know that EVE Online’s newest expansion, Legion, is coming to New Eden on May 27, 2025, but Capsuleers have been waiting for juicy details regarding the MMOFPS extension of EVE Online, EVE Vanguard.
After today’s Fanfest keynote, we now know that the release window for EVE Vanguard is the summer of 2026! In just over a year, players will be able to send clones down to the surface to make their first-person shooter dreams come true in the massive universe of EVE. Vanguard has been in pre-alpha for 1.5 years, and soon, it will be in the hands of players everywhere.

It is important to note that EVE Vanguard will launch into early access next summer and continue to be a work-in-progress. It was also announced that EVE Vanguard will be coming to both the EVE Launch and Steam, and it is available to wishlist now! There will also be wishlisting milestones to earn in-game rewards.
If you can’t wait until 2026, CCP Games also announced that there will be a public access event, coined Nemesis, coming for EVE Vanguard on September 16, 2025, on both Steam and the EVE launcher. During this event, they aim to showcase several different commissions to give players a good look at the variety available. These include crafting, contracts and resource missions to ultimately benefit the world of New Eden.
Some new details surrounding the world of EVE Vanguard were also announced, including the introduction of Bastions. Bastions are hubs within the Vanguard universe that act as gathering points for your digital consciousness. Warbarges are the area where your clone is born, gears up and is customized before you head out into the world.

So, what is the difference between the Nemesis event and the early access release? Nemesis is meant to be just a taste of what Vanguard will be. Here you will experience a handful of different commissions, a few weapons and character designs. There will also be a few NPC Bastions available, with Player and Corp Bastions coming in the early access launch.
EVE Vanguard is available to wishlist now, with the Nemesis event happening on September 16, 2025, and the early access release in the summer of 2026. Stay tuned to CGM for more EVE news here.
