On Thursday, GIANTS Software made the big announcement that Farming Simulator VR is indeed happening, and its release is right around the corner.
In a new announcement, the developers over at GIANTS software (known for previous entries in Farming Simulator) pulled back the curtain on a new trailer for the latest entry in the franchise. Introducing Farm Simulator VR, a foray into hands-on farming, but without leaving the coziness of your home. The VR title’s reveal trailer can be seen below.
The trailer showcases how close the player is to the farm and how far the player is from the farm while wearing a VR headset. Fans have been deploying mods to put Farming Simulator into VR at an unofficial capacity before, and today’s announcement shows GIANTS has been listening, with this Farming Simulator VR announcement. Most farmers travel to the farm itself for work, but everything fans expect from a mainline Farm Simulator can be found in VR, and once strapped into the Meta Quest, the farm comes to the home instead.
GIANTS continued Farm Simulator‘s focus on real-life brand implementation. VR Farmers can get their hands on real-life machinery from top brands in the space with Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere & much more. Like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Farm Simulator VR boasts they let the player explore faithfully reproduced vehicle cabins and perform maintenance duties, assuring equipment stays up to code. Aspiring farmers can also take their talents to the greenhouse and raise Tomatoes, eggplant, strawberries, and other greenhouse crops by hand for a more cultivated experience.
Although Farming Simulator VR has been officially announced for Meta Quest, and the trailer showcases the Meta Quest 3 model, there has been no confirmation on whether the title will be coming to PSVR or PSVR 2. Farm Simulator VR launches on February 28 for Meta Quest and more information can be found on the official GIANTS website.
