Final Fantasy VII’s Naoki Hamaguchi has teased the future of the Remake series on Nintendo Switch 2 in the latest Creator’s Voice video.
Nintendo’s Creator’s Voice series highlights a specified creator and their massive software port to the Nintendo Switch 2. The video series appears to highlight creators outside the first-party Nintendo companies that have committed to porting titles over to the Switch 2. Creators from Supergiant Games, CDPROJEKT RED, and FromSoftware have already been featured in the program. The latest Creator’s Voice highlights Final Fantasy VII REMAKE INTERGRADE‘s port to the Nintendo Switch 2, with Final Fantasy VII creator Naoki Hamaguchi. The nearly 5-minute video can be seen below.
In the video, Hamaguchi references the Final Fantasy Remake project while discussing the Nintendo Switch 2 console. He noted that games are the most exciting form of media because players can immerse themselves in the story, creating a unique appeal. “The first video game system I ever played as a child was made by Nintendo, so to this day, I have a special fondness for Nintendo platforms,” Hamaguchi said.
This fondness extends to the Nintendo Switch 2, where Hamaguchi admits he is “intrigued” by the new console and its features. He stated that he believes the system has enough power to run the “Final Fantasy VII Remake series” he is developing. At present, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2, but Hamaguchi’s emphasis on “series” suggests that Rebirth may also make its way to the console.

Throughout the video, Hamaguchi references the entire “Final Fantasy VII Remake series” instead of the already confirmed first part in the trilogy, REMAKE INTERGRADE, leaving open speculation that Rebirth and the next unnamed third title will also be landing on the Nintendo Switch 2. Hamaguchi said “this is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to create something for a Nintendo system, and that’s very special to me” regarding the Final Fantasy VII Remake series.
Final Fantasy VII REMAKE INTERGRADE is arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 at a TBD date, and while it appears Hamaguchi said the series is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, fans should wait for an official announcement to be sure.
