On Thursday, The Game Awards 2024 launched and revealed a wealth of new gaming information, including Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is coming to PC in January.
Last night, The Game Awards 2024 revealed what’s in store for the gaming universe for 2025 and beyond, and in between announcing award winners, Square Enix announced the popular Final Fantasy VII Rebirth title will be finally coming to PC in January. With the move to PC, fans can use a slew of new functionality reserved for the platform. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth introduces new features and customizations that allow the player to view the world in a different way, starting with lighting effects. According to Square, the sequel’s overall rendering of light is significantly improved, and updated areas and cutscenes present to the player with greater clarity than before. The same goes for frame rate. the move to PC allows for fans to increase performance enhancing the base title’s frame rate, including support for variable refresh rate (VRR).
Interestingly, the port to PC also provides fans a way to take Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the go. The title will be Steam Deck verified at the moment of release, and Dualsense 5 functionality will allow players to experience the world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth exactly how it is presented on the PS5 console.
Fans who want to pre-order the sequel for PC, can find the title on discount for 30% off on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Special pricing for people who pre-order early is listed below, and fans who do so will receive the Moogle Trio Summoning Materia, a Shinra Bangle Mk: II and a Midgar Bangle Mk: II. Buyers of the PC version will get The Posh Chocobo Summoning Materia, regardless of purchase time.
