Final Fantasy XIV’s first major past post-Dawntrail will release on November 12, for all platforms.
Announced during the latest Letter From the Producer Live, the patch titled “Crossroads” brings a wealth of new content to the game, and promises some new story beats. Of course, if you haven’t beaten Dawntrail there’ll be a few spoilers ahead. You can see the trailer below.
In Crossroads it looks like Wuk Lamat and the team will be heading back to Solution 9 to help the city along in the wake of Queen Sphene’s death – and the fact that the entire city can now again remember everyone they’ve lost. Interestingly, the trailer indicates that we’ll even see a bit more screen time for Zoraal Ja, the main villain of Dawntrail.
Of course, Final Fantasy XIV’s New Main Scenario Quests are hardly the only thing coming with Patch 7.1. The most exciting addition is likely Echoes of Vana’diel, the new 24-player Alliance Raid that crosses over with the series’ previous MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI. The Alliance Raid will be released in November alongside 7.1, but some of the other content will be arriving later with the smaller 7.1x series of patches.
This includes Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures, featuring the return of the wacky adventures of Hildibrand Manderville in December. The new content for Chaotic Alliance Raids, debuting with Cloud of Darkness, also won’t be released until the end of December. Below you can see the full schedule for the 7.1x series of patches.
