First ASUS Xbox Handheld Pics Leak From FCC, Alongside ROG Ally 2

Photos allegedly leaked from the FCC have revealed ASUS’s secretive “Project Keenan” Xbox handheld alongside the upcoming ROG Ally 2.

Following the successful launch of the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X in the past two years, an Xbox handheld has been rumoured (and at one point, confirmed in November 2024) at ASUS for nearly half of that time. Today, picture documents from the FCC allegedly leaked, revealing not just an ROG Ally 2, but the Xbox handheld “Project Keenan” that’s supposedly coming from ASUS and ROG.

The news comes from Windows Central via VideoCardz and the Indonesian site 91mobiles. In their posts, images appear to show the ROG Ally 2 and a mobile Xbox console, sourced from the United States FCC through VideoCardz. Both leaked devices have a remarkably similar appearance and can be viewed below.

The leak revealed two models, a white version and a black version. The white console is most likely the ROG Ally 2, while the black version is supposed to be the in-development Xbox handheld “Project Keenan”. If fans look closely, the black console features a similar button to the white console’s above the +pad, but on the Project Keenan, it appears to be a heavily degraded Xbox button.

WindowsCentral claims the black console is currently being tested “openly” at Microsoft HQ, and ASUS recently teased their next device would “#PlayALLYourGames” right before April Fool’s Day 2025. That post on X (formerly Twitter) was responded to by the official Xbox X account with a cheeky meme that shows something is up. The exchange on X can be seen below.

The “ALL” your games phrase mentioned by ASUS could potentially refer to the Xbox Game Pass library, or it may simply mean all games in general. Notably, serial numbers for both devices were revealed in Indonesia’s SDPPI database, which is required for any telecommunication device—including those with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth—to be approved for use in Indonesia.

The serial numbers listed in the SDPPI were identical to those found on product labels in the leaked FCC images, according to 91mobiles. The serial numbers published in SDPPI Postel were RC73XA and RC73YA, with certificate numbers 109908/DJID/2025 and 109880/DJID/2025.

While it does appear these images could be authentic (especially judging by the dustiness of the alleged Xbox handheld and the reflection of the photographer in the image), fans should take the news with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made from ASUS or Microsoft regarding a portable Xbox.
