After the reveal of Power Rangers and Halo Spartans coming to Battle Royale, Fortnite: Shock ‘N Awesome has detailed the bug menace players will face, and how to kill them.
Although Fortnite let the cat out of the bag regarding big Power Rangers and female Halo Spartan outfits hitting the Battle Pass and Item Shop, today, Epic Games has revealed the bug menace players will encounter, their different species, and how to kill each of them. On top of that, new Points of Interest (POIs) will open up for Chapter 6 Season 4, and new weapons will drop into Battle Royale, giving combatants more tools to kill bugs or each other. Whichever comes first doesn’t matter; what does is the new trailer that can be seen below, showcasing all of the chaos that will ensue in Shock ‘N Awesome!
Fortnite Battle Royale: Shock ‘N Awesome Key Features
- A New Battle Pass – The new battle pass will run 1,000 V Bucks which is not a surprise, but it will have three collaboration skins: the generic UNSC Spartan from Halo (an instant unlock upon getting the pass), and the last reward for the over-achievers is Power Rangers‘ Green Ranger outfit at the end of the linear pass, and a Dino Megazord will function as the mid-season drop. The Dino Megazord Outfit can be unlocked by completing in-game Quests starting September 16.
- The Bug Problem – fans will notice Fortnite has a bug problem, and they will make quite a nuisance for players trying to win the #1 spot. Bugs will come in three varieties: a swarmer, bomber, and the Queen herself will spawn in the field in an attempt to send combatants back to the menu screen. After killing a nest of swarmers and bombers, the Queen will appear, and you’ll have to take her down.
- The Match-rank System Returns – Killing bugs will net players OXR (Onimorph eXtermination Rangers) experience, and perks are better this time around for Fortnite’s ranking system. Ranking up will prompt the OXR to send you and your squad a drop pod full of weapons and supplies, and there will also be bunkers around the island to unlock at rank A.
- Three New POIs – OXR HQ, the good guys’ home base where the fight is led against the bugs; The Hive, where the bugs come from; and Ranger’s Ruin, an old OXR base where bugs may be found in droves.
On top of the bug menace, Power Rangers, Halo Spartans and a mess of locations and new weaponry, fans will be able to hit the Item Shop for many outfits this season, including a Mighty Morphin pack that includes all five base rangers in one package.
Fortnite Battle Royale: Shock ‘N Awesome will run until November 1.
