Epic Games unleashed a torrent of information regarding their next Fortnite collaboration, and it’s supposed to be “the biggest Star Wars collaboration” ever.
Following the recent announcement at the Star Wars Celebration, Fortnite: GALACTIC BATTLE begins May 2 and introduces new Star Wars content and gameplay to Battle Royale. New content will be released each week during the celebration, and fans can head over to a special island in Fortnite to watch the new animated series, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, two full days before its official release on Disney+ (launching on the streaming platform on May 4, Star Wars Day). The latest teaser trailer for GALACTIC BATTLE can be seen below.
The Star Wars Watch Party island will go live on May 2 beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET, and the first two episodes of Lucasfilm Animation’s new series Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will be shown to audiences globally at that time.
Executive Vice President of Disney Games & Digital Entertainment, Sean Shoptaw said “For the first time, Disney+ is premiering a show inside a game, launching alongside our largest Star Wars collaboration with Fortnite to date – giving fans and players an exciting first look at the kinds of experiences they can expect as we shape a new future together,” adding “We’re building the next era of digital entertainment, where fans can play, watch, create and connect – and we’re just beginning to tap into what’s possible.”
Disney+ and Epic Games are also adding connected account features, and players link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts will unlock a First Order Stormtrooper Outfit in Fortnite to further celebrate the upcoming Star Wars GALACTIC BATTLE season of Battle Royale. Fans can find the watch party island by searching the row of experiences fans can see after logging into Fortnite, but for those who like direct access without searching, the magnifying glass search option works also with island code: 2124-6713-8076.
Fans who want to link their MyDisney and Epic Games accounts can follow the steps listed below.
- Sign in to the player’s Epic account (epicgames.com/id/login.)
- On the My Account page, go to Apps and Accounts.
- Click “Connect” on the MyDisney Account option. You’ll be directed to the MyDisney website to continue the process. Some fans will not be allowed to link accounts, to check eligibility fans can head to the official site for more information on eligibility.
