Fortnite V-Bucks Gets Big Overhaul And Will Let Fans Buy Exact Amounts For The Item Shop

A highly requested feature is finally being added to Fortnite. Epic Games will allow players to purchase the exact amount of V-Bucks needed for Item Shop purchases.

V-Bucks are a necessary evil in the world of Fortnite, and they operate as the premium currency players can use to fill their outfit closets for Battle Royale, LEGO and beyond. For many players, the Item Shop refresh (which occurs every day at 7:00 p.m. EST) is the most exciting time of the day, as new items land on shelves for players to look through and potentially spend their V-Bucks on.

Often, players could find themselves a couple of V-Bucks short due to the way V-Bucks are distributed through the marketplace. Fans can currently buy bundles of V-Bucks in bundles of 1,000, 2,800, 5,000, and 13,500, respectively. However, items often get listed for amounts that leave odd remainder numbers. For example, currently, the Halo Master Chief Bundle is listed for 2,600 V-Bucks, and players can buy the 2,800 V-Bucks bundle, leaving 200 remaining after the purchase.

These overspending situations are going to be corrected soon, as Epic Games has revealed they plan on letting players purchase V-Bucks in increments players need, starting in October, regarding Item Shop offerings and player purchases. On the flip side, if players have remaining funds left over they can simply cover the difference. Using the 200 V-Bucks leftover from the Master Chief Bundle above, if a fan wants to then purchase an item for 400 V-Bucks, they will be allowed to cover the difference by purchasing just 200 V-Bucks instead of the now-enforced 1000 on the Item Shop marketplace.

This ‘Exact Amount’ offer is coming to Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys and will be available on Xbox, Nintendo, PC, Android, iPhones, iPads, and the Fortnite web Item Shop. The Item Shop Exact Amount offers will be made available in increments of 50 for Fortnite and Rocket League to align with item prices found on their respective marketplaces. Existing Fortnite V-Bucks and Rocket League Credits will be rounded up to the nearest 50 on October 10, when the marketplace update goes live.

Fans looking for more information regarding this new Item Shop update can head to the official Epic Games site.
