FromSoft Exclsuive The Duskbloods Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

During the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, developer FromSoftware announced a brand new IP titled The Duskbloods that looks to be largely inspired by Bloodborne.

The trailer showcased what appeared to be an open-world set in a gothic Victorian setting looking eerily similar to the land of Yharnam. The trailer also showcased what appears to be some of the game’s character classes, including a leather-clad katana-wielding warrior, a Shaolin Monk, and a big man in a robot suit, complete with jetpack.

The trailer also featured what will likely be a central mechanic The Duskbloods—leaning into the theme of blood that was present with the trailer and the game’s namesake—the ability to drain life from enemies. The Duskbloods trailer also featured a whole host of magical abilities, a frightening half-man, half-dinosaur transformation. Naturally, some of the game’s terrifying enemies were also showcased, including a horrifying frog monster with a terrible smile.

Much like the announcement for Elden Ring on the Nintendo Switch 2, The Duskbloods will likely take advantage of the system’s newly touted hardware features, including 120hz refresh rate, 1080p in handheld (boosted to 4K resolution on dock) and HDR support to really bring this new world to life.

Furthermore, with the Nintendo Switch 2’s expanded social features, getting into a multiplayer session may be more convenient and more expansive than ever before. If The Duskbloods is a Switch 2 exclusive, there’s also a good chance the new Joy-Con 2 controllers may be included in some way.

Unfortunately for fans eager to jump into what looks like the spiritual successor to Bloodborne, the trailer for The Duskbloods only gave a tentative 2026 release window. Not only that, but it is also unclear if this will be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive or a timed exclusive for all consoles.
