FromSoftware has developed a reputation for being enigmatic, and today, it’s been reported that the studio has another secret multiplatform title in the works, and it could be coming sooner than fans think.
While keeping Elden Ring: Nightreign fresh with updates and working on the new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods, FromSoftware already has a lot on its plate. But a new report suggests the studio could be working on even more. A report from MP1st alleges that the Japanese developer responsible for the Dark Souls and Armored Core franchises is hard at work on an unannounced multiplatform title.

The report says FromSoftware is not only hard at work on the new title codenamed “FMC,” but they’re in the deep stages of development on the title. Judging by past ‘codenaming’ decisions, FMC is likely an abbreviation of another, longer codename. While FromSoftware was working on Elden Ring, the title was called “Great Rune” prior to an official announcement and fans got word that they were working on a title referred to as “GR,” if this revealed development is in anyway similar, FMC won’t directly abbreviate the new in-development title’s name.
The report suggests the title is in an “advanced stage” of development and could be playable next year. FromSoftware’s already announced new IP, The Duskbloods, is scheduled to release in 2026, and the studio has already released trailers showcasing gameplay elements. If this unannounced title is indeed set to release next year, the developers seem intent on keeping it hidden longer than The Duskbloods.

Previous FromSftware game codenames that have started with F have been directly tied to Dark Souls or Armored Core series titles, so its speculative the hidden title could come from one of those franchises. It’s worth mentioning The Duskbloods ‘codename’ has never been revealed to the public, so it’s possible FMC could be related to the Nintendo Switch exclusive.
With all of that being said, the report doesn’t name Bandai Namco (or any) sources that have corroborated the report, so fans should take the news with a grain of salt until a more concrete announcement is made regarding a potential new FromSoftware development.
