Gamescom 2025 has been filled with big reveals and fun surprises, but one of the biggest by far has to be a new game featuring two things everyone loves: Cats and Dave Bautista.
Announced during Gamescom, Cat Assassin will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy star in the lead role as the titular cat assassin. Developed by Titan1Studios, and writer of Stray and 12 Minutes, Steve Lerner. Cat Assassin is said to be inspired by games like Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Stray, offering a unique blend of stealth, action and storytelling.
In the trailer, Bautista says, “We’re building a massive new universe that spans across video games, animated TV series, graphic novels, and so much more.” Cat Assassin is a cat-like parkour stealth-action game set in a gritty neo-noir city, starring Hugh, a highly skilled feline assassin. The trailer gives players a small taste of the seemingly morose and grizzled persona that Bautista is bringing to the character.
Cat Assassin is a cat-like parkour stealth-action video game set in a dark and twisted city, centring on Hugh, a highly skilled feline assassin navigating cartels and power brokers. The game is inspired by the immersive gameplay of Assassin’s Creed, the tactical espionage of Splinter Cell, the immersive feline agility of Stray, and the fluid combat of Sifu. This initial game is poised to set the tone for the expansive universe that will soon follow.

The game will feature a dynamic roguelite system, forcing constant strategic adaptation, as every time Hugh dies, he’s sent back to his early adulthood. Both the player and their target will reincarnate, creating new and unique gameplay situations to alter their approach. Utilizing a mix of “Cat-Fu,” martial weapons and firearms—every move, success, and failure warps the narrative, shaping a unique path to victory in a twisted city where every life counts.
“We are incredibly thrilled to finally share this first look into the captivating world of Cat Assassin,” said President & CEO of Titan1Studios, Rathan Moorthy, “Our deepest gratitude goes to Steve for his trust in stewarding this incredible IP, and to Dave and Dogbone Entertainment for their unwavering commitment and infectious enthusiasm in bringing this groundbreaking project to life.
He went on to say, “This teaser trailer offers a powerful glimpse into the immersive tone and dynamic style that fans can expect, marking the beginning of what we have planned for the expansive Cat Assassin universe.” Further details regarding the animated series, publishing partners, and additional video game titles will be announced in the coming months.
