Today is the day gamescom 2026 presents its Opening Night Live to the world from Germany, and here’s all of the info you need to know!
Gamescom kicks off today at the Koelnmesse convention center in Cologne, Germany, with the annual presentation showcase, Opening Night Live. The showcase will take place today, August 25, and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. Geoff Keighley has three big annual showcases a year, and gamescom 2026 ONL is the second, acting as the filling between Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards. Usually these showcases have a runtime of ~2 hours, and many game trailers are presented to fans alongside the big gaming celebration of gamescom, and usually, these showcases show completely new titles that haven’t been announced yet. gamescom 2026 will undoubtedly have world premieres, just like the 2025 showcase, and 2024 before it.

While most of the showcase will be shrouded in surprise, Geoff Keighley has revealed some of the titles that will be appearing on centre stage. These titles are listed below, and have been confirmed as part of the gamescom 2026 ONL showcase.

- Final Fantasy VII Revelation
- Gears of War: E-Day
- Ananta
- Tides of Annihilation
- Metro 2039
- Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
- Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons
Opening Night Live kicks off at 8:00 p.m. CEST (which is 2:00 p.m. EST). A 30-minute pre-show will air before the main show, as is normal for gamescom ONL showcases. Fans can catch the event streaming live on the official YouTube and official Twitch channels. Or, you could watch it just below when it kicks off at 2:00 p.m. EST. Fans should remember to bring supplies, these showcases normally run for over two hours, so fans who are in it for the long haul should come prepared (there are breaks in the presentation though).
