The studio was formed in 2021 after the departure of many senior staff members from Gearbox, with the creative creator of Borderland 3 and The Elder Scrolls Online, Paul Sage, as the CEO and game director of the studio, and Scott Kester as the art director role, previously worked on Borderland 3

After the seven veterans saw the industry willing to take risks on huge budgets and recycled mechanics but unwilling to take risks on new gameplay and player experiences, they decided to leave the studios and form Ruckus Games. With the new studio formed, Paul Sage, Ruckus Games CEO and game director, stated that their mission was to create games that people could have fun with from the get-go.

From what is known so far about the unknown debuted title, it will offer a co-op for up to four players as the game will be updated with new content over time. In terms of the settings, the game is set in a reminiscent era amid the backdrop of the American heartland. Players will take on the role of everyday people who are forced to become heroes when the town is under attack, but it is a mystery about who is behind the strange event and not everything seem to be adding up.

Focusing on the feature, the game will provide a large roster of playable characters and thousands of unique make-shift weapon combinations like a modded power washer turned into a flamethrower. Alongside the roster and make-shift weapons, the player will “Smash, Grab, and Grow” as they blast their way through the suburban invasion scenario by taking to the street to destroy whatever they want, find new weapons and resources, and rescue NPC to take back to your hometown, a living centralized hub. In your hometown, you can customize, build, and upgrade over time to enhance your weapons and abilities to be even stronger as you step outside for another round of chaotic fun.

From what is known so far, this is quite an interesting title from Ruckus Games. To learn more and stay up-to-date with the game news and development, you can visit the Ruckus Games website.
