A free patch is coming to Ghost of Yōtei next week, adding features that allow fans to continue the adventure after rolling credits, including New Game Plus.
It has been just over a month since Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Yōtei released, and developers are already adding features after players hit the credits screen. On November 24, a free patch for Ghost of Yōtei players will introduce a New Game Plus mode, allowing fans to relive Atsu’s quest for vengeance from the beginning scene with everything players earned throughout the campaign. This means completionists who have missed ‘that one item’ in the first area can retrieve it without having to restart the campaign and go through it all over again. Sucker Punch also launched a new trailer featuring the update’s additions, and it can be seen below.
The New Game Plus mode will unlock after you’ve finished the main story in Ghost of Yōtei, and will add new harder difficulty options and two new trophies to coincide with them. There’s also a new currency called Ghost Flowers that players will be able to exchange with a vendor for more than 30 new cosmetics. These include new armour and weapon dyes, plus 10 new charms. You’ll also be able to earn an additional tier of upgrades for your existing armour and weapons, allowing Atsu to become even more powerful than what was possible with just the base game playthrough.
With this new patch, fans can replay content in the post-game after the conclusion of the main story. The free Ghost of Yōtei update also adds a new stats display for players who need their data available at a whim. New accessibility options will also be added to Yōtei, including directional button remapping, and a new Photo Mode (with camera-like features including shutter speed, a composition grid, and new filters) for those who like to savour the moment.
Starting on November 24, fans now have the option to revisit Atsu’s story in New Game Plus or jump in from the beginning again with new features. Like Ghost of Tsushima before it, Sucker Punch plans to bring Ghost of Yōtei a ‘Legends’ mode in 2026, and also like Tsushima before it, the additional DLC will be free on launch.
