Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R Coming to Nintendo Switch 1

Anime fighter Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year, Japanese developer Arc System Works announced today.

Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R will launch on the Nintendo Switch eShop complete with its original roster of 25 playable characters (each of which have been fine-tuned for competitive play) and all of the same game modes: Survival Mode, M.O.M., Mission Mode, Training Mode, and Online Multiplayer Mode, which will feature Ranked and “Player” (non-ranked) matchmaking modes.

Originally released on previous-generation consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita), Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R is a port of the 2006 arcade game, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core (which later made its way to PlayStation 2). This news comes in spite of voiced concerns from Guilty Gear series director and designer Daisuke Ishiwatari, who earlier this year said that Nintendo’s new console “might not be a good match” for “achieving high-quality graphics” for the port.
