GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT has been announced at Summer Game Fest.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT at Summer Game Fest 2026. The new third-perseon mecha title is a brand new cinematic chapter in the iconic Gundam franchise. It promises to be a fantastic entry point for new comers to the franchise, while also offering an exciting evolution for long time fans.

Players will suit up as RE-X, the new protagonist pilot for this brand new chapter in the Gundam saga. RE-X wields the Gundam Helix, a high-mobility suit, as they fight alongside a motely crew of soldiers as they struggle to protect humanity from unknown threats. They’ll be up against enemy hordes, massive bosses, and immeasurable challenges. The narrative is a strong focus, promising to deliver the same huge action and emotionally charged moments that’s been a part of the series since it’s beginnings.

The trailer shows off plenty of action, with Helix wrecking havoc against enemies with a huge sword and a hook shot that looks to grab enemies and bring Helix quickly towards them. Gundam is a series I’ve always been incredibly curious about, but the entry has always felt too daunting into a series that’s been running across decades and many iterations. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT looks like a fresh jumping on point, a melee-focused action game that looks to start a new timeline in the saga.

The Gundam franchise has over 300 games to its name, from text based adventure games to high flying action. MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED was the last title in the series to come out, back in May 2025, with GUNDAM BREAKER 4 in 2024.
