After a week of availability on Xbox, Helldivers 2 has deployed its anticipated Into The Unjust update, allowing divers to take the fight to the Terminids on Hive Worlds.
The latest update to land on Super Earth is finally here, and it will let players see a whole new side to the bug menace. With Helldivers 2: Into The Unjust, Helldivers will now be able to find the reason behind the Gloom shroud that has been enveloping planets designated as ‘Hive Worlds,’ by taking the fight to the bugs on their front doorstep. The official gameplay trailer for Into The Unjust can be seen below, to get Helldivers acquainted with what they will face on the Terminid’s home turf.
Helldivers 2‘s new update brings a labyrinth of cave tunnels that twist and turn (which will be randomly generated), infested with the ‘Spore Lung’ that appears to be the catalyst that produces the thickening fog that makes up the Gloom. The Gloom was introduced last month on certain Terminid-infested planets as a way to deter Helldivers from invading, and with the new cave system that will take Helldivers off the surface, some stratagems and support from the Super Destroyer will be unavailable. After taking down the Spore Lung, the planetary surface will clear up.
Aside from the new missions and Terminid cave system, Arrowhead Studios is launching a new Dust Devils Premium Warbond, which will allow divers to outfit themselves with the weaponry necessary to clear the air (and the infestation) on Hive Worlds.

- AR-2 Coyote – This new incendiary assault rifle has everything a Helldiver would need to enter Terminid caves, supplying firepower and support. But after hitting one, don’t allow it to touch you, as everything can burn, and caves are close quarters.
- G-7 Pineapple – This new cluster frag grenade provides a devastating effect inconsistent with normal pineapples, and explodes multiple times for extra damage.
- S-11 Speargun – The Speargun fires heavy-duty projectiles that release a cloud of gas on impact.
- EAT-700 Expendable Napalm – A new stratagem that aims to burn away any loose bugs that may have found their way up to the surface.
- MS-11 Solo Silo – Another stratagem to deploy against the bug menace, and it provides a Hellpod-sized missile silo that unleashes a single, ultra-powerful missile (and it comes with a handheld targeting remote).
Aside from the Premium Warbond and the new cave system, Helldivers will have to investigate. Helldivers 2 has deployed some bug fixes that fans have been complaining about online, namely, the Motivational Shocks Booster (which was released in the Polar Patriots Premium Warbond back in May 2024) no longer applies to enemies, making it usable at long last. For the Helldivers 2 intel-savvy, a list of Patch 01.004.000 fixes has been posted by Arrowhead Studios, and they can be seen on Steam. Alongside the new fixes, missions, and weaponry, new enemies that have been unleashed with Into The Unjust have been detailed below (including a new Charger variant), and players will need more than bug spray to drop with.

- Rupture Spewer – This bug comes from the ground to spit corrosive acid onto unsuspecting Helldivers. It returns to its hole to ‘reload,’ and it is believed that it consumes its own dead to generate more of its corrosive acid.
- Rupture Warrior – A variant of the basic Terminid warrior and a by-product of Gloom-induced mutation. The Rupture Warrior has lost the UV-insulating chitin layer that would protect its internal organs from solar radiation damage, so it prefers to dwell in the caves.
- Rupture Charger – A new variant of Charger that can burrow underground to dodge opposing gunfire and reappear to hit allied teams hard.
- Dragonroach – A new flier Terminid that spews toxic acid onto Helldivers, stopping Liberty dead in its tracks.
Helldivers 2: Into The Unjust is live now, and any Helldivers 2 players (regardless of platform) can jump in and take the fight to the Terminid Hive Worlds, but as Arrowhead CEO Shams Jorjani has advised previously, “Please prepare your pants.”
