Hideo Kojima’s OD and Physint Delayed Due To SAG-AFTRA Strike

An Unfortunate News For The Upcoming Exciting Games

Hideo Kojima’s OD and Physint Delayed Due To SAG-AFTRA Strike

Hideo Kojima has announced his two upcoming games, OD and Physint, have been delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike alongside giving updates about Death Stranding 2

With the SAG-AFTRA strike beginning in July and continuing for five months, Hideo Kojima recently posted on Twitter an update about the development of OD and Physint, which seems to be in a hiccup and delayed due to the strike. Alongside the unfortunate news, Kojima has shed light on the Death Stranding 2 development and the upcoming live-action film with A24 based on the IP.

During Kojima’s update about Death Stranding 2, he mentioned his team has “started to play and build up the game” after releasing the second trailer and working on the ADR for actors, music production and recording, and the Japanese voice recording. Not to mention, a very brief update about the upcoming live-action Death Stranding film with A24 as he mentioned preparation and planning as well for other adaptions are underway, and signing with WME as they held a Death Stranding Exhibition at Shibuya PARCO with the exhibition being held in Nagoya and Osaka next year.

Focusing on the unfortunate news, Kojima commented that OD development was going well with the actors and environment scanning. Still, in the second half of the year, scanning and filming were suspended due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. For Physint, it was delayed due to the casting being suspended as it was also affected by the strike.

If unaware, the SAG-AFTRA strike began in July after 18 months of negotiations to avoid video game actors having to deal with AI exploitation. Kojima plans to resume development next year, but that is as long as a deal has been reached.

The delay of OD and Physint will be sad for many, but some good news for the fans of Death Stranding with updates about the sequel development and upcoming live-action film.
