Hideo Kojima’s next project, Physint, can’t stay out of the news, and today, Kojima announced the next cast member is horror icon Bill Skarsgard as the player character.
After Hideo Kojima posted the first teaser for Physint, its next-in-line game in development at Kojima Productions next to OD, fans were convinced Bill Skarsgard was going to be confirmed as one of the characters of either game on Reddit eight months ago, considering Kojima’s penchant for leaving the player on edge (and the silhouette looking unmistakenly like him).
After a turbulent week for Physint, which saw PlayStation drop the ball on the latest Kojima Production (allegedly due to missed deadlines and inflated budgets) and XBOX recover the fumble, Kojima struck while the iron is hot, and officially revealed Bill Skarsgard as the fourth member of the cast in his new title Physint. He launched an announcement trailer, with behind the scenes footage of the title’s early production, which premiered during today’s Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast, and it can be seen below.
In the video, Kojima announces, “I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for Physint will be Bill Skarsgård,” adding, “We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we’ve decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans, and camera tests we conducted with Bill and Charlee earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project. My vision of the final form became much more solidified.”
Known for his roles in It, John Wick, Boy Kills World, Welcome to Derry, Clark, Nosferatu, Barbarian, The Crow, and one of Netflix’s first TV offerings with Hemlock Grove, and he’s joining the Physint cast as the lead character, the one the player will embody during gameplay. He joins previously announced cast members including Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe. Kojima has described Physint as an action-espionage title that will blur the line between games and movies, and it will be “unbound by any existing genres in digital entertainment.” A new film-based poster for the game has also been revealed, with the tagline “The Next Cold War Begins”.
Kojima said, “Physint is the culmination of more than 40 years of my career,” adding, “There are still many exciting cast announcements to come in future, so please stay tuned for further updates.” While Physint is still in production, a release date remains to be seen, and which platforms it will be available on has not been announced for when it launches.
