The people over at HoYoverse have revealed the newest update for Honkai: Star Rail, “Unraveled for Daybreak,” releasing March 25.
The update focuses on the events following the Phantasmoon Games, where the Trailblazer grabbed a mask and defeated the infamous streamer Sparxie. The story continues after the Trailblazer attracted the attention of almost everyone in Arcadia. Never missing an opportunity for publicity, Planarcadia’s CEO, Pearl, is hosting an expo in partnership with the Express Crew. The event is themed around the many adventures previously featured in Honkai: Star Rail and centres on the Astral Express’s galavanting: Star Rail FEST.
Star Rail FEST consists of three major zones for players to explore: the Belobog Zone, Xianzhou Luofu Zone, and Penacony Zone. The Star Rail FEST is basically a celebration of everything that the trailblazer has been through so far. For instance, there are giant balloon figures in the image of Supreme Guardian Cocolia, a duel against the Lord Ravager Phantylia at Scalegorge Waterscape and more. One of the newest explorable areas is the aptly named Pearluxe Tower, owned by Pearluxe Corp, which features an “ultra posable model” of Alloy King Pom-Pom on display and themed mechatron activities. A homage to the history of Honkai: Star Rail.
Fans of Honkai: Star Rail will be glad to know that the character Ashveil is now a playable character. Ashveil is a key character in the latest stage and is described in the press release as a “detective unreliable,” due to his extreme laziness. Ashveil originally entered the Phantasmoon games so he could investigate the murder case in the Dovebrook District. He is now working with the Astral Express Crew to uncover a conspiracy hidden beneath the events of the elation feast.
Ashveil is a five-star Lightning-type character on the Path of the Hunt and will be available for the entirety of the Version 4.1 Warp. Ashveil’s powers are, unsurprisingly, electricity-based, with his main exploration ability letting him inflict the stunned state on any nearby enemy. One of the cooler aspects of his playstyle appears when entering combat. Once in battle, all allies gain a boost to crit damage, and he can select one enemy as “bait.” As long as the bait enemy is on the field, every other enemy suffers reduced defence. Using the bait skill again gives him an attack boost while also recovering skill points for the team.
Continuing with Ashveil’s surprisingly strong moveset, when a teammate attacks the “bait” enemy he begins building up “gluttony” during combat. Consuming gluttony boosts his followup attack when he focuses on the bait target and unleashes the Hounding Pursuit attack repeatedly. Even after killing an enemy, he automatically begins damaging the next one. It makes him a very combat-oriented character with a strong set of abilities.
Setting Ashveil aside and heading over to the Graphia Academy, there is now an entirely new activity for the Trailblazer to take part in. In Monikerd: The Wispae War Saga, players will lead different types of Wispae soldiers and use strategies, upgrades and spell cards to win. Defeating powerful enemies earns new Wispae companions, alongside a mode where players can fight against outside adversaries.
Once the update launches on March 25, players will receive 10 free warps as long as they log into the game after the update goes live. The Trailblazer can also use a Waypoint Pass to freely explore any area, along with an entirely new upgrade system called “A Mask of Elation.” More details on the vast update can be found on the Honkai: Star Rail website.
